SPOTLIGHT: WALTER SENOKOANE
Walter Sefularo Senokoane, was born on the 19th April 1985, and has grown into a positive, health driven individual over the past 31 years. With an enthusiastic, energetic, approach to life, he has become a great achiever and is driven to conquer anything that evokes the slightest twinge of fear; no matter what it takes!
His motto in life is "I know what I want, I deserve what I want and I always get what I want" – an ethos that often prompts others to describe him as "an AWESOME individual."
"One of the big things that surprises people about me, is how fluent I am in Afrikaans" he says, adding on a more personal note "My wife's name is Kegomoditswe Senokoane and we're expecting our first child in December/January, which I am looking forward to immensely. Some of the things I enjoy doing when I'm not at work are working out and attending personal development seminars. I also like reading and listening to rap music and am very big on personal development, so don't be surprised if you see me sitting alone during a lunch break, I am probably just doing my affirmations and meditation/seeding while enjoying my lunch."
"My professional background started in 2006 after finishing my studies as a sound engineering student in 2005 at Allenby Campus. I started off working in a retail music store, selling CDs and DVDs before moving onto working in the sales department of one of the biggest importers and exporters of audio equipment in the country. I quickly noticed that I was more passionate about the live events industry, which motivated me to quit my job and start working for a smaller events company. Being the go-getter that I am, I established my own AV rental company with two friends shortly after that and moved to Durban where we successfully serviced a small client base for two years. After that I closed the company and went back to freelancing as a technician. This is where I started learning more about setting up and running AV as well as lighting for live events."
Walter's values include the fact that he believes in big success, great achievements and service delivery beyond expectations. "Gearhouse, for me, is one of the few companies that is on par with my values. That is why I declined various other opportunities and chose to join Gearhouse instead. I currently occupy the position of sales representative at Gearhouse South Africa's Johannesburg Branch and I aim to grow into this role to become the company's top sales representative and one of the best employees the company has had in a while. So far though, I'm starting at the beginning, learning about working under great pressure and the importance of being meticulous with my administrative responsibilities.
A year from now, I will be working on a multi-million rand deal/event which will bring great rewards for both the company and myself. I'm saying this, because I believe that once we communicate our wants to the creator, we will always receive them and more."
