Jeff Thomson first entered the industry in 2007, after following his love for music and discovering a passion for live sound. After starting as an intern, he quickly worked his way up the ranks, and discovered a huge interest in musical theatre audio. He worked as an Assistant Audio Technician on shows such as Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical, Lord of the Dance and Tap Dogs, which led to him first meeting and working with Alistair Kilbee (Managing Director at Splitbeam)

After a couple years, he left the industry to fulfill a childhood dream of working in the bushveld and on his return decided to study live sound engineering full-time at the Academy of Sound Engineering. During this time he started working with Splitbeam to gain more practical hours towards his course. On graduating in 2015 at the top of his class, he worked with Splitbeam as a freelance Audio Technician before leaving to work on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. After completing his cruise contract, he re-joined Splitbeam full-time as Senior Audio Operator for theatre.

He is looking forward to a long and mutually-beneficial relationship with Splitbeam, working on and touring as many shows as possible, and seeing as many theatres as possible.
