ICT solutions provider, Gearhouse ICS is one of the Gearhouse Group of Companies making inroads into the conference, exhibition and event market with complete IT solutions. These are provided as turnkey information management support to Conference Associations and Professional Conference Organisers (PCO) and consist of a combination of software, hardware and professional crew.

An in-house team of developers have come up with a range of applications for these markets; including EventsCentral, which is the online and onsite delegate management and registration system and MediaVue, the presentation and content management system.

“Any conference is about creating knowledge through sharing information. Managing this information across the board, from initiation to completion, is key to a successful conference or event”, says Thabiet Waggie, Managing Director of Gearhouse ICS.

Ongoing refinement and extension has seen the addition of two new and exciting modules to the EventsCentral suite: Abstract Manager and Programme Builder, which seamlessly share information. Both allow Conference Associations and PCOs to manage information in preparation for their conference and events, allowing for better planning and smoother execution.

Abstract Manager is a system that facilitates the submission of abstracts, the evaluation process and the identification of presentations and posters to be used as content in the conference. Key features include:

  • Setting of cut-off dates for submission of abstract and moderator evaluation.
  • Creation of tracks / streams for abstract submissions.
  • Assigning abstracts to moderators.
  • Evaluation criteria and weighting set for moderators.
  • Rating threshold to filter abstracts.
  • Uploading of presentations and posters.

Programme Builder has been designed to “auto-build” a programme and enables the event coordinator to put together a digital conference programme that is stored centrally. The application is available to multiple users and can be managed in real-time. It can also accommodate managing high volumes of speaker presentations.

Other modules in the EventCentral suite are: Online and Onsite Registration, MediaVue Presentation Management, Poster and Abstract Café, Delegate Tracking, Live Event Stream, and Social Media Feed Display.
