NAVIGATING TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR GARMIN
On Thursday 27th March 2014, Crystal Towers Hotel and Spa hosted the Garmin Exclusive Partner event where the African Product Collection for 2014 was showcased and their brand campaign ’My Africa, My Garmin for Life’ launched.
The event was focused around Garmin’s Navigation to Health initiative, through which Garmin is helping to change the face of Africa. Technical proficiency was pivotal to the success of the occasion, the venue’s technical partner; INHOUSE Venue Technical Management (IVTM) was on hand throughout the event to assist.
Dim lighting set the mood for a Living Africology-themed extravaganza, where guests arrived to African face painting, traditional African welcome drinks and some great entertainment from live electronic duo, The Kiffness.
IVTM supplied the lighting elements as well as a 4m x 3m microtile wall for all the video playback and presentations and crystal clear audio for speeches, videos and musical entertainment. After all the formalities, the guests enjoyed dancing to the Crystal Towers resident DJ, Peter Cloete (also from IVTM).
“The Audio Visual was particularly complex for this event and necessitated a show caller calling the shots for production. It was a demanding event which came off extremely well on the night. We were pleased to have been able to deliver exactly what the client was after” said Ridaa Khan, Venue Technical Manager for Crystal Towers.
The Garmin Exclusive Partner Event was organised by TEC Video Production. Dani Becker, event producer at TEC Video said “Your team was most helpful, clued up, competent and friendly; they made sure that our event ran smoothly and this was a huge part of making it a success.”
The IVTM’s Venue Technical service is available in more than 20 venues around South Africa and the Conference & Event service takes on technical services for events happening outside of the IVTM contracted venue portfolio.
