IVTM C&E SUPPLIES TELKOM BENEFICIARY AWARDS
IVTM Conference & Event Technology Gauteng is the newest branch of technical supplier INHOUSE Venue Technical Management (Pty) Ltd, or IVTM, better known for its portfolio of preferred supplier agreements with key conference and entertainment venues countrywide. C&E Technology began operating in September 2010 and unlike the rest of IVTM Gauteng, this branch caters specifically for events taking place at non-contracted venues. This new branch has successfully infiltrated the small to medium event market in Gauteng and surrounding areas, providing cost effective solutions with energy-efficient equipment and multi-skilled technicians.
Each event solution is tailored to suit the specific requirements and budget of the individual client. Key to the success of this service is the fact that this team offers one point of contact to effectively manage the whole process - from quoting right through the actual event and the relationship beyond.
Conference & Event Technology Services offer:
- Long term technical partnering with venues and clients.
- Competitive daily technical packages.
- Onsite support and technical advice.
- High-quality equipment.
- Consistently excellent delivery.
- CAD facilities for scale drawings and layout planning.
As indicated by the name, IVTM's Conference and Event Technology services extend beyond conferencing to include events such as product launches, fashion shows, cocktail events, gala dinners, sporting events, press conferences, training sessions, networking functions - in short any event requiring audio, lighting, audio visual, staging, IT, cameras and rigging.
C&ET Gauteng supplied the full technical element, crew, design, audio, lighting, stage, audio visual, cameras and power for the Telkom Beneficiary Awards at the Wanderers Club on the 03rd March 2011. Telkom, the sponsor for the Telkom Charity Cup donated more than five million rands to various charities around South Africa and this event was broadcast to more than seven million viewers.
In addition, C&ET provided the technology to stream the footage live to more than twenty four thousand internet users. This process involved the combination of a Folsom processor and a Sony DSR45 to convert all the footage and presentation to a format compatible with an Apple PC using firewire. A separate audio feed was sent to the Mac to ensure crisp audio quality. This was then uploaded to a website, which subscribers could log onto to view the event real time. This type of technology solution goes a long way towards eliminating delays in audio and video streaming.
The technical aspect of this event was specifically designed to accommodate press, broadcasters and the event organisers. Of course, with a live broadcast there is no margin for error so every precaution was taken to back up microphones, playback units, data projectors and most importantly, power.
A high impact nature of this type of event requires skilled technicians to drive the event. Telkom is constantly looking for new ideas and it fell to IVTM C&E to come up with creative and innovative solutions - a challenge well within their remit and met with enthusiasm by the team involved.
