GEARHOUSE AND MEDIATECH PARTNER UP AGAIN IN 2017
Prominent South African technical and event equipment supplier Gearhouse has been involved with the Mediatech media and entertainment technology trade show since 2007. While Gearhouse itself doesn’t exhibit directly at the show, it acts as technical sponsor and offers huge discounts to exhibitors on rigging and other equipment. Gearhouse Group’s distribution and integration company System Solutions, however, does exhibit and finds the exhibition a useful business platform for its particular services.
Says Gearhouse Group Marketing Manager Robyn D’Alessandro, “For Gearhouse as a Group it is an opportunity to support our Industry in growing awareness around the South African offering and capabilities. We offer a 50% discount on all rigging points for exhibitors to assist with their show costs and as technical sponsors we invest a lot into making the technical aspects of the exhibition and conference elements look great and run smoothly. Of course, it’s not entirely altruistic; at the same time, we are able to showcase our own capabilities throughout our eight different companies - from the portable venue (Midi Dome from In2Structures) which is used as the Registration Venue, to the latest LED products (from LEDVision), the Lighting and Audio in the Coffee Bar, Audio Visual in the conference areas (Gearhouse SA/INHOUSE Venue Technical Management) and our set-building finishes on the Presentation Zones (Sets, Drapes, Screens). We may not be selling the technology but we can ably demonstrate what can be done with it.”
“It’s also a fantastic opportunity to catch up with our own suppliers and clients, together in one space, over a short period of time. Our Gearhouse Kentse Mpahlwa Academy students visit the Exhibition en masse, to learn about the latest technology and every second year most of our staff body make time to visit. For me personally, it’s a chance to meet up with the media and re-establish connections. It’s an exhibition Gearhouse looks forward to and one that is growing more exciting every time we see it,” D’Alessandro concludes.
