While Gearhouse SA is a technical supplier to the Southern African Live Events industry, Oasys Innovations is a supplier of infrastructure for exhibitions and events. Both companies have evolved into multi-disciplined operations through years of servicing the Live Event market and are market leaders in their respective fields.

The relationship between the two major players has strengthened over a number of collaborations on exhibitions and events. Not only are they similarly structured, with a common approach towards servicing the needs of their clients, but they have found synergy in their range of services which, in the main, complement one another.

Oasys provides shell scheme, stand design, furniture hire, light fittings, air conditioning units, electrical infrastructure and marquees whereas Gearhouse rents technical equipment and services pertaining to lighting, sound, staging etc.

Where the services overlap is in the provision of an Audio Visual service and this is where the companies have seen the opportunity to create a natural interface. A strategic alliance between the Gearhouse SA and Oasys has recently extended the market reach and service offering for both; affording clients on both sides access to an even wider range of services.

Oasys' Audio Visual aspect now includes the very latest technology, with the backing of Gearhouse AV expertise including the additional capacity of its diverse stockholding. Gearhouse AV specialist Bhans Sheomangal has been allocated to Oasys to provide technical support and advice, manage the quoting process and present solutions for the more technically complex scenarios now available to their clients. The same operational approach will be rolled out nationally.

Gearhouse clients countrywide can access the Oasys services as well as the Gearhouse disciplines through a single contact and enjoy beneficial pricing to boot.

"Ongoing communication and technical interaction is key to ensuring that the service standards and brand values of both companies are perfectly in synch." says Sheomangal. "This collaboration has been educational for both sides. We are working closely together and have common focus in providing the best possible all-round service for each event. The benefits for our clients are obvious!"

Moves are afoot to incorporate drawing elements from both operations to align functionality across the design teams and further improve the client experience.
